Scuder has developed a new protective shutter for high-speed, cross-working applications. This new shutter is designed for use in tool changers and other applications requiring minimal friction.
Its manufacture is carried out by fusing the properties of the special aluminum ' Scuder ' and ' Biplast-V® ', a material used in sliding guides in machine tools for more than 40 years and manufactured by the German company I-Plastic , of which Scuder is the exclusive distributor in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
The new shutter is made of anodized aluminum slats joined together with a special polyurethane that is highly resistant to oils and coolants. The Scuder 's ' Biplast-V®' component is fitted to the bottom, allowing the shutter to slide laterally along the guide without damaging it. The top of the shutter is reinforced with hinges and connecting screws for added rigidity.
